A small setup for a weekend away.

A few familiar things, packed with care, can give an unfamiliar morning its own quiet rhythm.

Friday evening, the open bag is waiting on the floor. A change of clothes, a book, a jacket for the walk you have been looking forward to. Beside them, a small coffee setup: familiar enough to use without thinking through a new recipe, and simple enough to put away before you head out.
For two nights away, the useful question is what you want your morning to feel like. Perhaps a short espresso before breakfast, or the gentle work of grinding beans while someone opens the curtains. Start with that moment. Build the packing around one routine you know, with space left for the rest of the weekend.
01 / Before the bag
Choose the coffee you will actually make.
Think through one ordinary morning at your destination. How much time will you have before leaving the room? Who wants coffee, and what do they usually drink? A portable espresso machine makes sense for someone already happy with that style of preparation. A familiar manual brewer may suit a morning with access to a kettle and more time at the table.
CERA+ lists the PCM03S as self-heating, with ground-coffee and Nespresso-format capsule support. Those details help define the preparation route, but they do not tell you how many drinks your own trip will require or which accessories are in your particular pack. Check the exact adapter and charging guidance for the machine you are taking. Other capsule systems are not established by that description.
Set the equipment out at home and walk through your normal assembly once. Notice the small part that lives beside the brewer rather than on it, the cup you actually use, and the cable that belongs to the device. It is easier to remember these things while the kitchen is still around you.

02 / The coffee itself
Give each morning a place in the bag.
Count the occasions you expect to brew, including coffee for a companion, and use your familiar dose as the starting point. Bring a modest extra portion if your plans are uncertain. Put the coffee in a food-safe container that closes securely, away from toiletries and anything damp. A simple label can save opening several small containers before breakfast.
Whole beans add a grinder to the setup; prepared grounds remove that step; supported capsules give each brew its own unit. Choose whichever fits the way you want to spend the morning. You do not need to introduce a new coffee format simply because the brewer is portable.
If you enjoy grinding before brewing, consider how the grinder packs as well as how it works on the table. CERA+ describes the manual CG01 with a folding handle, shown in the supplier image here. Follow its instructions when folding or opening the handle, and allow space for the body and grounds container. A compact-looking photograph is not a measured fit inside your travel case.

03 / A place for each piece
Keep the setup easy to unpack.
Give the equipment, coffee and cleanup items distinct places. The brewer and its approved parts need support so that they do not knock against a loose cup or grinder handle. Coffee stays closed in its own container. A clean cloth and a small bag for used consumables should be reachable without emptying everything onto the bed.
Choose a case around the actual equipment you own. Check the internal space, insert and closure with the device switched off, empty and dry, following its storage instructions. The CERA+ case pictured below is a supplier exterior reference used for PCM03 and PCM03S bag configurations. It cannot show whether your selected insert fits, or whether a grinder belongs beside the machine.
Try a quiet rehearsal: unzip the bag, remove what the first cup needs, then return each item to its place. If a part catches, the lid needs pressure to close, or a hard accessory rests on a control, reconsider the arrangement. The useful packing layout is the one you can repeat without forcing it.

04 / At the destination
Find the conditions for a calm first cup.
On arrival, find a stable, clear surface and an appropriate place to clean up afterwards. Keep bags, bedding and electronics away from the brewing area. Check where drinking water comes from, and what the accommodation provides, rather than assuming a kettle, suitable cup or convenient sink will be waiting.
Self-heating changes one part of the preparation; you still need suitable drinking water, the right coffee format and a charged device. Follow the machine's fill limits, assembly sequence and instructions for the water you use. If your chosen brewer needs separately heated water, confirm that option before the morning. A different room can change the practical routine even when the equipment is familiar.
Set out only what this brew needs. Open the coffee when you are ready, keep the clean cup within reach and give the process the same attention you would at home. For a shared morning, plan the order of drinks without assuming that everyone wants the same strength or serving style.
05 / Before you zip the case
Make room for the return journey.
Finish the routine before packing it away. Allow hot parts to cool as directed, discard used grounds or capsules through an appropriate waste route, and follow the manufacturer's cleaning instructions for the parts you have used. A portable powered brewer and a manual grinder need their own care; a sink nearby does not make every component washable.
Allow cleaned parts to dry before enclosing them. Keep used consumables separate from clean equipment, and give a damp cloth its own place while it waits to dry. If you must leave before a permitted washable part is dry, keep it separate for the journey and complete the drying at your next suitable stop. Do not seal the whole setup away wet.
Before checking out, look for the little things: an adapter beside the sink, a cable at the socket, a lid left to dry. At home, open the case again, finish any remaining cleaning and let everything settle back into its usual place. That last few minutes makes the kit easier to reach for next time.
Tools for a considered travel routine
The CERA+ PCM03S offers one portable espresso route; the CG01 is a manual grinder to consider when taking whole beans. Let the method you already enjoy guide the choice, then check the exact machine instructions and case fit.

Make the ritual yours
Take the routine, leave room for the weekend.
A weekend setup becomes personal through small decisions: the coffee you brought, the cup that feels familiar, the way each piece returns to the bag. After the trip, note what you used and what stayed packed. One useful adjustment is enough for the next journey.
The point of carrying coffee is to make a little room for a ritual you enjoy. Once the cup is finished and the case is closed, the rest of the morning is yours.
Your coffee. Your way.
